The only way something will change is if we discover something that wasn’t previously discussed in which case we will ask how you want to proceed first and will never do an extra service and slap the bill on you at the end.
Under no circumstances should an asphalt roof be pressure washed, as advised by the Canadian Asphalt Shingle Manufacturers Association. Despite claims made by certain contractors, even a low PSI pressure wash can cause damage to the protective shingle granules, leaving the roof vulnerable to the sun. Additionally, using a pressure washer may void most roof warranties. We always advocate for the gentlest roof cleaning methods ei: Soft washing.
The choice between pressure washing and soft washing depends on the nature of the surface being cleaned and the types of contaminants present. While pressure washing is effective for certain applications, it may not be suitable for more delicate surfaces or areas where the use of high pressure could cause damage. Soft washing, with its lower pressure and specialized cleaning solutions, is generally preferred for cleaning surfaces such as roofs, painted or stained wood, and other materials that may be more sensitive to high-pressure.
Your presence during the service isn't mandatory. While some clients opt to be present, we appreciate the opportunity to meet you in person if you choose to be there. What is crucial, however, is that we have access to running water and a power source on the exterior of the house.
Under normal circumstances, we try to schedule for clear days with light to moderate rain at the most and with temperatures above freezing level. If the weather becomes a safety concern leading up to or on the day of scheduled service, we will reschedule at your earliest convenience with no additional charge.
Yes, any time debris and moss is removed from your roof, it will collect in the trough of your gutters. As part of our roof cleaning service or roof washing package, we incorporate an interior gutter clean. Gutter cleaning will be included in the quote of your service.
Typically, roofs remain free of moss and algae for 2-4 years post roof washing service (treatment). We suggest opting for a maintenance treatment every 2 to 5 years, depending on the environment around your home, to ensure your roof remains clear of moss.
At Misty Peak, we stand behind our roof treatment services with a 2-Year Moss-Free Guarantee. Our treatment is designed to eliminate existing moss and prevent new growth for up to two years following service.
What’s Covered:
If moss reappears within 24 months of treatment, we’ll return at no additional charge to spot-treat any areas of regrowth.
Light, isolated patches that may occur—especially in shaded, high-moisture zones—are fully covered and will be addressed promptly.
Conditions & Clarifications:
In cases of heavy moss coverage, some stubborn areas may take longer to fully break down or may require follow-up spot treatments, which we’re happy to provide at no cost.
Environmental conditions such as excess shade, poor drainage, or tree debris buildup can contribute to moss regrowth. We encourage regular roof maintenance (e.g., clearing leaves, ensuring proper drainage) to get the most out of your treatment.
This guarantee does not cover untreated areas, structural damage, roof repairs, or moss growth caused by conditions beyond our control (e.g., roof leaks, structural issues, etc.).
Limitations:
In the unlikely event that Misty Peak ceases operations or is unable to continue business due to extenuating circumstances (e.g., permanent closure, serious illness, force majeure), this guarantee may become void.
However, our commitment to customer satisfaction means that as long as Misty Peak is in business, we will honor our guarantee with no questions asked spot treatments when needed.
We welcome payments made via cash, e-transfer or via online payment using credit through our online payment system. We are in the process of obtaining a Point of Sale system to accept payment on location via card.
